"Perfect Chemistry" by Simone Elkeles
Brittany Ellis has everything in life; high social class, school reputation, good grades, a perfect boyfriend.  Everything turns upside down when she meets Alex Fuentes, a Latino Blood gang member; he lives in the outer streets from the city.  For his misfortune, Alex has to make team with Brittany in chemistry class. He hates her; she’s just as the other typical “gringos” he regrets. And so, Brittany hates him; he’s just as the other Latins that “destroy” her culture. Why do we say they make Perfect Chemistry?

"Rules of Attraction" by Simone Elkeles
The sequel part for “Perfect Chemistry” narrates more about the life of Carlos Fuentes (Alex’s sibling). He just return from living a year in his homeland Mexico. Now in Colorado, he doesn’t want to be under his brother’s yoke; he wants to make thing his own way. The rules of attraction state that opposites attract; he meets Kiara Westford, a silent, calm girl, who feels intimidated by Carlos ways of being. He starts to back down with her. The plan stops when he notices that Kiara really needs him.
