Movie Zone!

Ballet Shoes (2007)
This television film is an adaptation of the novel written by Noel Streatfeild. This drama takes place on the early decades of the XX century; it is a very nice story.
A paleontologist, named Matthew (Richard Griffiths) receives the custody of a girl named Sylvia Brown (Emilia Fox), whose parents died in an accident. Along with her nana (Victoria Wood), the girl starts living with Matthew. At first he didn’t like the idea at all, but as time passes things get better. Matthew or, as Sylvia called him, GUM (Great Uncle Matthew) travels around the world frequently and, as Sylvia grows up, he starts adopting baby girls that he finds on his trips.  First, Pauline comes, followed by Petrova and finally Posy; they all get the last name Fossil, the name was given by Gum. After the third girl is adopted, Gum doesn’t come back anymore from his last trip. As years go by, the new family has to find a way to overcome their financial problems, so they sell some old skeletons to make some space and have rooms for lease. One of the guests is a dance instructor named Theo Danes, who asks Sylvia to let the girls audition to enter a dance academy, so that later on they can be able to work in theaters an help the family’s economy. Sylvia agrees, but as the movie goes by, each of the girls discovers their real interests and talents. Will the Fossil girls be able to help themselves and their family? Find out watching Ballet Shoes.
